Dental Fillings Near You
Dental fillings are the most common restorative dental service. There are multiple types of filling materials, and each one has its own set of benefits and disadvantages. Our dentists are experienced with all types of fillings and can help you choose which is right for you or your child.
Why Are Dental Fillings Necessary?
Dental fillings fix flaws in the teeth. This can include cracks, decay, gaps, chipped teeth, and more. While they are not permanent, they are durable and will last a long time before needing replacement. Fillings protect and seal the tooth, making them a great long-term preventative solution.
What Does Getting a Filling Involve?
The dental filling process typically only requires a single visit (after an oral examination determines that you need fillings). Once the area of your mouth being worked on has been numbed thoroughly with an anesthetic, your dentist will remove any decayed or damaged parts of the tooth to prepare it. The filling will then be placed and shaped in the mouth until it fits the original shape of your tooth. At your annual dental examinations, your dentist will check your fillings and let you know if any of them need to be replaced.
